Chef Rushabh Rupani – The Heart Behind Saffron ‘n’ Pepper
Born and raised in the culinary-rich cities of Mumbai (the Bollywood capital) and Pune (the “Oxford of the East”), Chef Rushabh Rupani has always been surrounded by some of India’s most exceptional food. Growing up in these diverse food cultures, he was immersed in the heart of Indian flavors, learning to appreciate the intricacies of spices, textures, and the rich culinary traditions that make Indian cuisine so unique.
Rushabh’s love for food was first sparked by his mother, whose remarkable passion for cooking became an inspiration that shaped his career. Her culinary skills and love for creating dishes that brought people together left a lasting impression, and her cooking still remains the talk of their community. It was this early exposure to food that motivated Rushabh to pursue his own culinary path.
At just 18, after completing high school, Rushabh made the bold decision to enter the world of professional cooking. His natural talent and relentless ambition soon led him to realize that he wanted to expand his skills and take his craft to an international level. This desire to push his boundaries and explore new culinary landscapes brought him to Sydney, where he could experience a global culinary scene and fine-tune his skills under the guidance of some of the best chefs in the world.
